Day 3

Assalamu Alaykum

Today wasn't as full on as the last couple of days. We just went shopping and went back home. My parents and sisters went to see another cousin of ours but I decided to just stay back and spend sone time with grandma.

It started off not so good. I woke up to hear my mum fighting with her sister. I don't know what's happening over here but it doesn't look good. And the way my aunty yelled at my grandma just made me sick. I couldn't believe it. I don't want to bitch about my aunty but there is absolutely no respect in this house. Only stubbornness and defiance. But anyway.. The point was, my day began with tears and shock. Especially when I saw the way my grandma was treated. I hate to see her stay in this house one more day. But there's not much I can do. At least she will get to go to Bosnia in a couple of days. She does not deserve to be treated like this. She needs to be taken care of and treated with kindness, not disrespected and yelled at. May Allah bless my grandma with all the goodness there is and may He give her peace and strength in everything she does. Amin.

After a while we dropped my youngest sister off at the library to work on an assignment and went back to Auburn to buy some things. We had a kebab and continued with the shopping. I only bought a skirt and some things for Mohamed. And a pair of shoes. And I bought the Sahih Al-Bukhari collection as a surprise for Mohamed. I think he will really like it. At least I hope he will. But my sister got all these lovely things for the home - coffee sets, tea sets, drinking glass sets a serving tray and a couple of other things. I thought it would be better not to get them for myself this time since I already have some, and no matter how beautiful they are and how much I live them, I don't need them. Not now anyway. I'm not even married yet.

And then we just caught the train back home, and my family left to see my cousins. And the rest is history.

I should go talk to my fiance.. So I guess I'm gonna go. I'll write soon Inshallah.

First day in Sydney

Assalamu Alaikum

It's the end of day one and I am exhausted. I just want to go to collapse in bed and sleep.

We decided to go shopping in Auburn today. The whole family went as well as my little cousin. We bumped into couple of friends along the way and it turns out my old Bosnian Dance teacher was around the corner holding a children's class. So we went along and surprised her. It was so good to catch up with her and some of the parents. We talked about memories and families. I really miss these people. There's not many people on the Gold Coast with a heart. Over there everyone wants something from you. It feels really good to be with people who were raised properly and with respect. And people who are simply genuine.

But anyway, we also had some yummy kebabs. Nothing beats Auburn kebabs. And ice cream and dessert. I'm also hoping to get sone halal McDonald's. Oh how I missed Maccas, as yucky as it is.

And not to mention the shopping.. We bought some tops, a couple of abayas and a skirt. Yes, I'm going to try wearing skirts. This one was really nice and I think I can wear it with quite a few tops. And the abayas are really nice and modern too. Inshallah I will wear them more often. I still need to go to the Hijab House store in Merrylands and see what I can find there. Inshallah I can do that in the morning tomorrow.

We also saw these beautiful serving sets and plates and trays etc etc. U have no idea how beautiful these were. If only I had more money I'd buy so much. It was so hard to walk away. Inshallah one day I will be able to buy them. I am hoping to at least buy a tea set while I'm here. It's not too expensive from what I remember. But the rest of the goodies will have to wait.

Alhamdulillah I'm really happy with today. And quite sad to see all that money go. But at least it was all worthwhile.

Inshallah tomorrow we will be back at Auburn, but this time at the Botanical Gardens. And I'd also like to go to Hijab House first thing in the morning.

Ok I'm off to bed now Inshallah

I'll talk to u soon

Looking for the Ring

Assalamu Alaykum

I think its time to buy "the ring". We've been looking for quite a while.. I found a few that I liked, but by the time I get back home, call the fiancĂ©,  and get back out to the shop again - it's either sold or the sale's over and its well and truly over the budget. And I'm really picky when it comes to jewellery so that doesn't make it any easier. I've had my eye on a couple of rings. We went to the shops yesterday to pick one out and at least put it on layby but unfortunately we found out that 3 of those are sold out. And even though I was given the option of ordering them in, the cost was blown up way out of what we are prepared to pay. So now there is only one. It's a little bit pricey but hey, you only get married once, Inshallah.

I think this is the one, but I would love to have it engraved on the inside

And I wish I could have this one to go along with it.. so sparkly... a girl can dream

So I think we will get that one. It is so beautiful. To be honest its the one I preferred all along but its also the most expensive. Inshallah we will be able to get it on the weekend.

That's all for now.. Salams

SHOPPING TIME :)))

After four long weeks of hardcore study - I finally had a chance to give myself a well deserved break and go shopping. It started off with Australia Fair in Southport but that wasn't enough so we decided to go to the hijab shop in Brisbane, but not before doing a detour to Westfield Garden City. And since even that wasnt enough we stopped off at Harbour Town on the way back home.

We had a good time, just talked, looked around, had lunch and coffee etc etc. And I ended up buying quite a few things. Here's some of it:

Some of the things I bought...

There's more but I put it in the wash so ye.. can't take photos yet.

Overall, it was such a good break, even if I do feel really guilty for not doing any study for the day. Guess I'll just have to work more on the weekend.
